Video Transcript for Review of ASA Electronics RV Air Conditioners - Advent Air White Low Profile System - ASA26YR

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Advent Air White Low Profile 15,000 BTU RV Air Conditioner System. This low profile air conditioner unit is gonna let you replace, upgrade, or add a new air conditioner to your RV or camper. And this system includes everything that you see here on my table. You're gonna get this air distribution box with built-in thermostat, a star capacitor, and electric heat strip.

And the low profile design of this air conditioner is going to minimize wind resistance to improve your fuel efficiency, and also provide additional overhead clearance for you. So this 15,000 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to do a great job of quickly and efficiently cooling down the inside of your RV or camper. This is compatible with ducted or ductless systems. And this is going to be a bolt-on insulation with the included hardware that you probably can see just a little bit there on that side of my table. Now this is going to be great for your motor homes, your travel trailers, and your fifth wheels.

However, I do wanna make you aware of the fact that this air conditioner has not been approved for use on school buses, food trucks, enclosed utility trailers or off-roading vehicles, just so you're aware of that. This air conditioner is going to fit roofs from two and a half inches to five inches thick, with an opening size of 14 and a quarter inches long by 14 and a quarter inches wide. And just to give you some overall dimensions of this air conditioner, so you have a good idea of the size of it, measuring from front to back, we're sitting at about 31 inches long. The overall height, we're sitting at about 10 and one eighth inches tall. And then the overall width, we're sitting at about 24 and 15/16 inches wide.

The air conditioner unit itself weighs a little under 70 pounds. And I'm gonna go ahead and remove this cover. I went ahead and loosened and remove the screws before our time together, just to make it a little bit quicker to remove that cover. I do want show you the inside, and you see a little bit of it from that angle but I think the best view of the inside is gonna come from overhead. So let me give you an overhead look here.

This air conditioner feature is a fan blade with a three speed motor that's going to give you ample airflow at 500 cubic feet per minute. This also features a condensation dispersion system, which is going to increase the cooling efficiency by managing the moisture to prevent water runoff. So hopefully that gives you a good view there. I'm gonna go ahead and replace our cover. As I do, I wanna point out that this is a hard plastic cover. It's a really good piece of plastic, relatively thick, so I think it's gonna be pretty durable for you. I have seen other brands of RV air conditioner covers that seem to be kind of on more of the thin side, a flimsy side. That's not the case with this cover from Advent Air. It feels pretty durable. I think it's gonna hold up really well. I think it's gonna do a great job of protecting the internal components from moisture and debris. And as you can see, this is very easy to remove. So if you wanted to do a little bit of maintenance or maybe clean this up, clean this out before camping season begins, all you gotta do is re remove the screws that secure the cover on the air conditioner with the Phillips head screwdriver. This will pop off easily. And then when you're done with the maintenance and cleaning, as you can see, this goes right back on into place as a snug fit. And then just replace those screws and tighten them down and you will be good to go. This does also feature a rigid metal frame with thick foam support pads at the bottom that you probably won't be able to see from that angle. But those pads are gonna support, provide support for you between the roof of your RV and this air conditioner. And then a gasket seals the opening to prevent water seepage and air leaks. And those foam pads at the bottom are going to do a great job of reducing noise while this is installed on the roof of your RV or camper. Now let's take a closer look at the components here on the other side of my table here. This air distribution box has adjustable registers at the front and at the back, and that's gonna let you easily direct the air where you want it. And then the air filter is removable. You'll just push in those tabs, pull this cover off, and then you're gonna be able to remove that air filter and wash it out and clean it. That's gonna prevent dust and dirt building up on your fan blades. The built-in thermostat controls are gonna control your fan settings, your temperature settings, and the internal aluminum components are not gonna rust or get corroded or anything like that. If you're wondering about the size, the overall height or length, however you'd want to identify that for, since I have it upright, it's gonna be the height. The length itself is gonna be about 22 and a half inches long. The overall width is about 21 and a half inches wide. And I do have this air distribution box set up on blocks here. But let me go ahead and see if I can just kind of give you an overhead look so you see one of the registers there, and then another register there. Looks like lost one of my knobs there that I didn't put on too tight. But those registers are going to be fully adjustable, and this is going to be about three and a half inches thick. So that's about, once you have this installed up in your ceiling, that's about how far this is going to be coming down, about three and a half inches thick. And then let me see if I can, in the limited space that I have here, give you a view of the other side there. And this is, of course, the side that's gonna be going up into your ceiling. So that gives you a good overview of the air distribution box that's included with this kit. See if I can set this back here, replace our knob, put it on there a little bit tighter. There we go. And then prop this back up and look at some of the other components here of our kit. So then we do have our start capacitor. And this is going to jumpstart your air conditioner when the campsite that you're at, or the generator that you might be using, just doesn't give you enough power to start up your air conditioner. And then this capacitor is going to store energy for the next startup. And this is going to install inside of the air conditioner unit. And it does come with hardware, so it'll be a very simple install. And then we have our electric heat strip that's also part of this kit. This has a rating of 5,500 BTU per hour. So this is gonna do a great job of removing the chill or cold on frosty mornings. And this, again, will install inside of the AC unit, and it's gonna be an easy plug and play installation with the included 30 inch power cord. And then instructions are included, as well with hardware to guide you through that installation process. We have our installation hardware here, and then the other components for the air distribution box. This is UL and CUL certified. And we do offer this kit with a black cover option for the air conditioner, if white isn't gonna go well with your setup. And again, this is a 15,000 BTU unit. But if that's too much for you and you'd be happy with a 13,500 BTU unit, we do have that option available here at etrailer.com. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

  • Are There Combo AC & Heat Units For RVs
Hi Connie, The closest thing we offer is an air conditioner unit that comes with a heat strip as opposed to a full heating function. But the way it works is you'll just turn the dial on the distribution box to the heat setting and the fan will blow hot air from the heat strip. There are a couple options for that, depending on what color you want: - White: Advent Air Low Profile RV AC w/ Air Distribution Box, Start Capacitor, and Heat Strip - 15,000 Btu # ASA26YR - Black: Advent Air Low...

  • Replacement AC Condenser Units For A Dometic Brisk II 15,000 BTU System
Hi John, So we do offer plug-and-play replacements for your Dometic unit, but the options we offer require that you have the same branded controller to plug in a heat strip. This means you would need to replace the entire system in order to have a heat strip or reach out to Dometic for a compatible replacement. If you're fine with losing the heat pump then the next step is remove the cover for the air distribution box and look for the wire harness that connects the rooftop condenser...
